Earn STARS Continuing Education Credit

The online Priceless Parenting course is approved by the Washington Association for the Education of Young Children (WAEYC) for the 10-hour continuing education requirement. Completing this course will result in ten (10) STAR credits in Child Guidance. You will need your STARS ID Number when registering.

What will I learn in this class?

The class covers a range of topics from handling typical misbehavior to guiding children to solving their own problems. A course outline of each lesson is available plus more detailed information about the class. The end of each lesson has homework so you can try out what you just learned in your classroom.

What steps do I need to follow to get my 10 STARS credits?
  1. Register for the course and include your STARS ID number on the registration form.
  2. Complete all seven lessons. Apply the homework to your childcare environment.
  3. Complete a training evaluation form electronically using Word or print out a PDF version.
  4. E-mail your evaluation to Priceless Parenting or mail it to:

"I just want to tell you that I am enjoying this class! I think it really helps the way I perceive the job we do as teachers. Many times over the years, you ask yourself "did I handle this the best way I could?" We are teachers, but we NEVER stop learning. Things are so very different now from when I was young. I think that looking back, I can really see what was effective parenting, and what was not. Hopefully, we can take the best things to pass on to today's children!"

- Donna Barr, Preschool Teacher, Bellevue, WA
